Key Features
  • Sulfuric acid digital titration method
  • 10 - 4,000 mg/L as CaCO3
  • Phenolphthalein & bromcresol green-methyl red powder pillows and two cartridges

Overview
The Hach Alkalinity reagent set contains 100 tests, determines alkalinity using sulfuric acid titration with the Digital Titrator and has a range of 10 - 4,000 mg/L.

Mechanics
The sample is titrated with sulfuric acid to a colorimetric endpoint corresponding to a specific pH. Phenolphthalein alkalinity is determined by titration to a pH of 8.3, as evidenced by the color change of phenolphthalein indicator, and indicates the total hydroxide and one-half the carbonate present. M (methyl orange) or T (total) alkalinity is determined by titration to a pH between 3.7 and 5.1, and includes all carbonate, bicarbonate and hydroxide.

  • Range: 10 - 4,000 mg/L as CaCO3
  • (100) Bromcresol green-methyl red powder pillows
  • (100) Phenolphthalein powder pillows
  • (1) Sulfuric acid titration cartridge, 1.600 N
  • (1) Sulfuric acid titration cartridge, 0.1600 N
